Associate Director, Research

Robin is a respected researcher whose achievements in defence research and development are numerous. As the Associate Director, Research at the Defence Innovation Partnership, Robin brings a wealth of knowledge and a strategic understanding of Defence research and development objectives.

Robin received his PhD in Physics from Flinders University in 1996 and joined DST soon after. He has worked on many Defence research and development projects including logistics systems, the development of the Army Sustainment Modelling and Analysis Research Tool (A-SMART) for Army Headquarters, and developing the Army’s strategic science and technology policy. His work has attracted letters of commendation and thanks from the Deputy Chief of Army, the Land Commander (AUST) and the (then) Chief of Army, Sir Peter Cosgrove. In recent years, Robin’s research has focused on biometrics. In 2016, his research group was recognised as world-leading by senior US and Australian intelligence personnel.
