Applications are now open for the eighth round of the Defence Innovation Partnership’s Collaborative Research Fund (CRF), with grants of up to $150,000 available.
The Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) supports collaboration across government, universities and industry as a catalyst for defence-relevant research, development and innovation.
To date, the CRF has supported 35 projects, providing more than $3.4 million in financial support from state government, leveraging $10.8million from Commonwealth, industry, and university contributions.
Round 7 saw six projects awarded a total of $900,000 in funding for research projects aligned to Defence priorities and focused on improving Defence Force capability.
Defence SA Chief Executive Matt Opie acknowledged the crucial role of the CRF in facilitating high-value research projects that deliver tangible results for the defence industry.
“We are pleased to support the CRF as it continues to play a key role in the defence research and development ecosystem. The CRF has been instrumental in delivering positive outcomes for the state’s evolving defence industry.”
Mr Opie shares that the CRF continues to attract a high calibre of applicants. “Interest in the CRF continues to grow with each Round and we look forward to supporting the selected projects in Round 8. We have seen an increase in the quality of applications which is also pleasing.”
Applications for South Australian-based projects close on 6 September, with successful applicants announced later in the year.
